A Little Something I Cooked Up

I find that giving gifts is extremely hard. I never know what to get anyone unless they tell me and then I hate that there is no surprise if I get them what they told me to. It's like "YAY you got me exactly what I wanted I didn't see this coming... at least its not socks or a sweater!" The same goes for cards. I hate just going to the store and picking out some sappy Hallmark and frankly there all hideous or inappropriate for the occasion or mood. Plus I always think to make your own is SO MUCH MORE special. It's one of kind, special, unique, always appropriate, and meaningful. Every year for Valentines Day I make my own card for Chaz. And NO it is not that glued lace and macaroni stuff it's professional clean and always sophisticated. Well at least I think so. Here is an example of what I'm talking about this is a card and poster I made for the newly Mrs. Emily Swihart. I wanted to get her something for her wedding but I didn't want to buy everything verbatim off of her registry. Which if you go to a wedding and don't get someone at least one or two inexpensive things off their registry SHAME ON YOU, and me because I'm guilty of it. But here you are hope you enjoy!

The card was folded twice so the outside of the card they would be facing each other almost as if they were going to kiss or are talking. The each flap you open has the persons name on the back and the heart in the middle is the date of their wedding.

Hope you all like this idea. You can even do it with your own wrapping paper which is SUPER fun but like I said you can make it super fun or elegant and sophisticated. However, this is somewhat expensive. A cheaper solution which I am quickly falling in LOVE with is wrapping presents in brown packing paper an then writing on the packing paper and drawing fun designs or doodles its so much fun. Its sort of like having a cast though people will want to write on it and sign it and doddle inappropriate things so BEWARE!

Amazing Things I Want, But Will Probably Never Buy: Part 2

I've been super busy this past month. I've had a lot of freelance jobs which is AWESOME. And Monday I a starting at LPK. However, you will clearly see that that has not kept me from finding things here and there that I really really want or am extremely inspiring. I hope you enjoy if this doesn't give you jazz hands then you have no soul.
