Today I figured I share with you somethings that I love. It's nothing specific just some RANDOM! I'll give you some recipes some patterns maybe some pictures and yes in deed some lovely design. Here you go!
French Onion Soup AMAZING!
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter
• 4 onions, sliced
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped
• 2 bay leaves
• 2 fresh thyme sprigs
• Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 1 cup red wine, about 1/2 bottle
• 3 heaping tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 2 quarts beef broth
• 1 baguette, sliced
• 1/2 pound grated Gruyere
Directions:
• Melt the stick of butter in a large pot over medium heat.
• Add the onions, garlic, bay leaves, thyme, and salt and pepper and cook until the onions are very soft and caramelized, about 25 minutes.
• Add the wine, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the wine has evaporated and the onions are dry, about 5 minutes.
• Discard the bay leaves and thyme sprigs.
• Dust the onions with the flour and give them a stir. Turn the heat down to medium low so the flour doesn't burn, and cook for 10 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste. Now add the beef broth, bring the soup back to a simmer, and cook for 10 minutes. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper.
• When you're ready to eat, preheat the broiler. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle the slices with the Gruyere and broil until bubbly and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes.
• Ladle the soup in bowls and float several of the Gruyere croutons on top.

Stop It with your Clip Art TORTURE
So I work at a church somewhat conservative and stuck in there ways. Lets just say that the average age is 80 years. Anyway I've been enduring my fair share of clip art torture. Now let me set the record clear, my church is not the only culprit and they are certainly not the worst. First off not every sentence needs an image to correspond with it and secondly if must use your terrible clip art at least follow the same styles. Don't mix a paper cut simplistic style with a very detailed and intricate line drawing. Everything has a feel or a personality, from typefaces to clip art. For example Times New Roman is very traditional yet easy going and somewhat neutral, thus its a conservative people pleaser. Where as Century Gothic is a contemporary clean lined and easily read typeface. Giving it a personality of a very easy going, hip, edgy, and modern person. Everything has a personality for typefaces for clip art for everything design think of your mood your personality. I always think of what type of person would this represent, for instance Cutie Pop would represent Taylor Swift or Hannah Montana.
Get it! I hope so because stop with your abuse. :)
Here are some bad examples of clip art
Look and learn!
Here are some good examples of clip art. These are both elegant and especially effective uses of clip art they are honestly GORGEOUS. I love one for New Years Eve.

COCA COLA I LOVE YOU
I wouldn't say that I'm a Pepsi or Coke kind of girl but I love the competition between the two especially when it comes to design. We've all seen the new looks for Pepsi which I do have to say I absolutely love. But the other day I discovered a new concept design for Coke by an artist that is not affiliated with Coke but just doing some amazing design. I really love it. The bottle is 27% more eco friendly and is 65% more collapsible making it easier to recycle. Plus my favorite the different shape of the bottle means that it won't roll, especially off the seat and onto the floor and under the seat. Well enough talk more looking, here you go.

New look and PATTERNS!
So I've changed the look of my blog to match my website a little more. I found a way on blog spot that makes editing every portion of the site super easy, without making changes to the CSS. Anyway on to PATTERNS! One of the loves of my life behind well a jazzy fellow of mine and a great typeface is a well designed pattern. I L.O.V.E. PATTTTTERNS. I can't tell you what I particularly like about them or why they appeal to me so much. It may be because of the simplicity but they again because of the intricacy or maybe because its both. Anyway I love patterns and you should to. Here are some patterns I adore.
And as always here are some of the patterns I've made over the years.

COLOR COLOR COLOR
Illustration although a very difficult industry to get into is booming more then ever on the Internet. Sometimes people don't even realize the thing there looking at is in fact the strenuous work of a talented individual. I myself am becoming increasingly intrigued by color and experimenting with color theory is one of my guilty pleasures. Here is some work by some illustrators I truly admire.

JAZZY LOGOS
Logos are sometimes the most important thing in the recognition and recall of products or companies. Logos are simplistic little elements that go and everything, and if done properly tells what the company is about, what their selling, and who they are. Logos for some reason are one of the things that make me really excited and giddy with jazz hands. So enough talking here are some pretty incredible logo designs that I absolutely love.
HERES OUR GIRAFFE OF THE WEEK! Isn't he adorable and an amazingly designed logo. Here are a couple of JAZZY logos I've designed myself.
